Getlink: truck shuttle traffic up 8% in December

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has reported that its Shuttle Freight traffic in December 2020 reached a higher level than its pre-Covid level of 131,746 trucks transported, a performance that is up 8% year-on-year, boosted by a storage effect ahead of Brexit.


However, the Shuttle transported only 86,676 passenger cars last month, down 63% compared with December 2019, still greatly suffering from Covid-related travel restrictions and health constraints.

Over FY 2020, 1.45 million trucks and 1.41 million passenger cars crossed the Channel through the tunnel on board shuttles, down 9% and 47% respectively compared to 2019.
