Getlink: freight shuttle traffic down 7% in December

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has announced that its passenger shuttles transported 233,232 passenger cars in December 2019, down 1% y-o-y, with Shuttle Freight having transported 121,939 trucks, down 7%.


Over FY 2019, more than 2.6 million passenger cars crossed the English Channel with Le Shuttle, down 2%, while almost 1.6 million trucks were transported on Le Shuttle Freight shuttles, down 6%.

The infrastructure group that operates the Channel Tunnel, explains "having been impacted during the year by the French Customs officers' strike, the uncertainties linked to Brexit and the decline in the automobile market."
