Getlink: stock up with Eiffage taking stake

(CercleFinance.com) - The Getlink share is jumping 4.
8% in morning trading today, with Eiffage announcing that it has acquired 5.03% of Getlink's capital on the market, i.e. 4.33% of its voting rights. Getlink, formerly known as Eurotunnel, has a concession to operate the Channel Tunnel until 2086 and is also a player in mobility infrastructures in Europe.

"This transaction fits in Eiffage's strategy aimed at diversifying its concessions portfolio, already strong of a number of holdings in transport infrastructures in Europe, as well as lengthening its duration," Eiffage said.

Eiffage financed this investment of 307.5 million euros from its available cash. It intends to be a long-term investor of Getlink and reserves the right to continue buying shares, depending on market conditions.
