Arkema: recharges investments in batteries

(CercleFinance.com) - At inauguration of its Christian Collette Centre of Excellence dedicated to batteries, located at its Pierre-Bénite Research Centre, Arkema said that it is now targeting sales of close to one billion euros in batteries by 2030.


The chemical company plans to increase its production capacity of Kynar PVDF fluoropolymers at Pierre-Bénite by 50% to meet the fast-growing demand for lithium-ion battery materials, an expansion that should start in the first quarter of 2023.

The new Centre of Excellence, equipped with state-of-the-art design and analysis equipment, will accelerate the development of advanced materials and processes for future generations of batteries that are more efficient, safer and more compact.
