Alstom: to test automated trains in Lower Saxony

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that its research project for automated regional trains in Lower Saxony has entered a new phase.


In collaboration with the German Aerospace Centre and the Technical University of Berlin, Alstom has started developing technical solutions to gradually digitise rail passenger transport in Germany.

The project underway will explore the possibilities of automation in regional passenger transport via the European Train Control System (ETCS).

The automated driving is being tested on rail lines in Northern Germany, says Alstom.
