Alstom: unveils design of future Parisian metros

(CercleFinance.com) - The design of the future Parisian metro lines 15, 16 and 17 was unveiled at the opening of the exhibition "les lignes du design".

Built by Alstom, these new automatic trainsets will meet very specific requirements in terms of comfort, information and safety.

Air conditioning, heating, information screens, USB sockets, electric braking without the release of fine particles... "We have designed and will produce a new-generation metro benefiting from the latest technologies, offering high performance and a renewed passenger experience, Henri Poupart-Lafarge, Alstom's Chairman and CEO said.

Each trainset will be able to carry around 500 passengers in the 3-wagon version and around 1,000 passengers in the 6-car version. The commercial speed will be between 55 and 65 km/h with a maximum speed of up to 110 km/h.

350 Alstom employees at eight sites in France are working on this project, which also provides 800 jobs for French suppliers.
