Valneva: purchase agreement signed with Brussels

(CercleFinance.com) - French biotech company Valneva today announced that it has signed an advance purchase agreement with the European Commission for the supply of up to 60 million doses of VLA2001, its inactivated Covid-19 vaccine candidate, over a two-year period.


Following a final review of the quantities required by each EU member state, the company plans to supply 24.3 million doses in the second and third quarters of 2022, subject to regulatory approval by the European Medicines Agency.

Brussels has the option to increase this initial firm order to a total of 60 million doses, with delivery of additional doses in 2023. This agreement follows the 10 November announcement of the Commission's approval of the agreement.
