Orpea: sharp drop in net profit in 2021

(CercleFinance.com) - Orpea has reported 2021 earnings of 65 million euros, well below the 160 million euros posted the previous year, a drop that in particular reflects provisions for risks and charges relating to the estimated risks following administrative inspections in France.


The dependency care group improved its EBITDAR (EBITDA before rent) margin by 35bp to 24.9% on revenues of 4.3 billion euros, up 9.6% (including organic growth of +5.5%).

In Q1 2022, Orpea recorded a 9% increase in revenue, including organic growth of 5%, despite a decline in the occupancy rate of Ehpad in France over this period.
