Renault: new roadmap with Nissan and Mitsubishi

(CercleFinance.com) - Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors have unveiled a new roadmap for their alliance on Thursday, dedicated to electric vehicles and connected mobility.


In a joint statement, the three partners explain that their project consists of investing 23 billion euros in electrification over the next five years.

The members of the alliance also intend to increase the use of their common platforms in the years to come, whose share will rise from 60% today to over 80% of the 90 models planned by 2026.

With 35 new 100% electric vehicles planned for 2030, the alliance aims to offer the widest range of electric vehicles, based on the five common platforms.

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi also say they are working with joint partners to achieve economies of scale and affordability, an initiative that should reduce battery costs by 50% in 2026 and 65% in 2028.
