Renault: progress in hunt for new CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - According to a number of sources, including Les Echos, Seat's boss, Luca De Meo, appears to be best placed amongst various candidates to take up the role of Renault's CEO, which has yet to be filled since Thierry Bolloré was dismissed.


At a board meeting yesterday, Les Echos reports that Messrs De Meo and Koller (in charge of operations at Faurecia) have emerged as the best placed candidates, with the article saying that the first of these candidates has a "clear advantage".

Currently CEO of Volkswagen's Spanish subsidiary, the Italian Luca De Meo is neither an engineer nor French, although he does speak French, and has spent his entire career - which he started at Renault - in the automobile industry.
