Renault: Fitch downgrades outlook on credit rating

(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday, the credit rating agency Fitch Ratings downgraded its outlook on Renault's debt from "stable" to "negative", which suggests that it could downgrade the group's rating in the future.


In essence, Fitch explains his decision by the deterioration of the group's profitability and the cash generation, while economic conditions are deteriorating, in a context (particularly related to reduction in vehicle emissions and electric or even autonomous cars) that will require significant investments. Added to this, there are uncertainties surrounding the group's alliance with Nissan.
