Eiffage: contract to rebuild prison in Marseille

(CercleFinance.com) - Eiffage announces that, as part of a consortium, it has been awarded the contract for the third and final phase of the project to rebuild the Baumettes prison in Marseille, for just over 90 million euros, of which the lion's share (87 million euros) is for Eiffage.


The contract covers the demolition of the men's prison, as well as the design, construction and fitting out of a new prison with a surface area of 30,000 m² and a capacity of just over 700 places.

The work will take 31 months to complete and will begin after a year-long period of design and demolition. Delivery is therefore scheduled for the last half of 2024 and will mark the end of the centre's reconstruction, which began in 2013.
