Schneider: organic growth accelerates

(CercleFinance.com) - While Schneider Electric experienced unfavourable FX factors at the beginning of the year, like-for-like sales growth continued to accelerate.


The specialist in electrical equipment and systems has therefore maintained its forecasts.

At the end of Q1 of its fiscal year 2018, the group recorded sales of 5.8 billion euros, up slightly (+0.7%) as reported, due to a very negative FX effect (-8.4%), due to the depreciation of the US dollar and the Chinese yuan in particular.

On a like-for-like basis, sales grew by 6.2%, thanks to strong growth at its two core businesses, Energy Management and Industrial Automation. By major region, Asia-Pacific recorded strong growth (+14%), sales in North America rose by 5%, while they were flat in Western Europe.

The Aveva transaction was finalised over the quarter.
