Colas: launches Wattway in Japan

(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday evening Colas announced that Colas Japan and its partner TOA Road have launched the the Wattway circulatory photovoltaic pavement in Japan, marking a new stage in the deployment of this solution.


The "Wattway Pack" consists of the installation of 3 to 18 photovoltaic slabs, combined with an energy storage system. It can be used to power roadside electrical equipment (lighting, surveillance cameras, charging of electric bicycles or Wi-Fi) and make them autonomous, even if the electricity network is not available, Colas says.

The solution is particularly suitable for urban areas, parks, cycle paths and charging points for soft mobility.
