Thales: new biometric module for borders

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announced on Tuesday that it has strengthened its border management offering with the marketing of a new biometric module.


This high-precision module - based on artificial intelligence - enables travellers to be identified and registered at borders for immigration and verification procedures.

Equipped with a camera and a high-resolution LCD screen, the device can recognise the iris and face of pre-registered travellers from a distance of 0.5 to 1.5 metre within two seconds.

It speeds up operations and reduces queues in ultra-secure border control environments such as airports and seaports.

The module supports the initial registration of travellers on arrival and generates fast and accurate biometric checks on flights.
