Thales: partnership for Airbus Perlan Mission II

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced a partnership in the Airbus Perlan Mission II project.


The project will enable Thales' FlytLink satcom system to fly in a stratospheric glider at more than twice the altitude of an airliner.

It will provide a direct view of the stratosphere and benefit from the feedback of the two-seater glider's crew as they fly through the outer reaches of space, it said.

Based in Nevada, the Airbus Perlan Mission II team is planning another flight this year, in the US and in El Calafate, Argentina, where the glider already set an altitude record in 2018.
