Thales: contract for public transport in Jakarta

(CercleFinance.com) - The Indonesian public transport agency PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia has awarded an 8-year contract to a consortium led by PT Jatelindo Perkasa Abadi, including Thales, Lyko and PT Aino Indonesia to deploy, operate and maintain a ticketing platform and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) mobility solution for the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.


This metropolis, which covers an area of 6,343 km2 and has a population of over 31 million, is the most populous region in Indonesia.

The Jatelindo consortium will deploy an integrated electronic payment and fare system. The new ticketing platform developed by Thales is expected to handle two million trips per day. Users will be able to use their mobile phone or contactless bank card to access the various public transport networks, making their journeys more fluid.
