Thales: commissioned to certify training centre in France

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and Rheinmetall have announced that they have been awarded the contract to certify the future training centre for the Franco-German fleet of C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft, as subcontractors (50/50) of Lockheed Martin.


The training centre will be based at Évreux in Normandy, home of the French Air Force's 62nd Transport Squadron, and will host the C-130J Super Hercules tactical transport squadron.

Rheinmetall and Thales will provide the personnel and services required for the certification of the training centre, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024. This initial certification phase could be followed by an eventual operational phase.
