Thales: wins contract for ID documents in Sweden

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that its subsidiary AB Svenska Pass has been awarded a multi-year contract to manufacture, personalise and issue nearly 12 million electronic passports, national ID cards and other identity documents to Swedish citizens.


In addition, so as to facilitate the secure capture of applicants' biometric data, Thales will supply new-generation registration booths, which will be installed at over 110 sites in Sweden.

The French electronics group adds that the agreement provides for the personalisation of temporary passports and the provision of support and maintenance services throughout the contract's term.
