Pernod Ricard: sells majority stake in SPA
(CercleFinance.com) - Pernod Ricard says that it has completed the sale of a majority stake in Société des Produits d'Armagnac (SPA) to an entity wholly owned by entrepreneur Alexander Stein, who has already formed commercial relations with the French group through other brands.
Based in Eauze, SPA owns the Marquis de Montesquiou and Comte de Lauvia brands. It is present in the main armagnac markets such as France, the UK, Russia and the US.
This deal should promote the growth of Marquis de Montesquiou and Comte de Lauvia, thanks to a new development strategy in France and abroad, at a time when armagnac sales are experiencing a strong rebound, the spirits group said.
