Sanofi: agreement with BioNtech to produce its vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi and BioNTech announce that they have entered into an agreement by which the French healthcare giant will assist the German company in the manufacture and supply of its Covid-19 vaccine, which is being jointly developed with Pfizer.


This will give it access to its production facilities and expertise to produce over 125 million doses in Europe. The first batches of vaccine will be distributed by Sanofi's production facilities in Frankfurt as from the summer of this year.

"First and foremost, we will do this by continuing to develop our own COVID-19 vaccines candidates, in parallel with this industrial cooperation," said group CEO Paul Hudson.
