Sanofi: to refocus two new global business units

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi Group today announces that it will change the organisational structure of two of its global business units, in order to refocus its activities in both mature and emerging markets.


The company will create a new Primary Care GBU that combines the product portfolios of Sanofi's existing Diabetes and Cardiovascular (DCV) GBU with Established Products, which are currently part of the General Medicines & Emerging Markets (GEM) GBU. The new Primary Care unit will focus exclusively on mature markets.Dieter Weinand will be in charge of the unit, as Executive Vice President.

A second new global business unit, called "China and Emerging Markets," will also be created and led by Olivier Charmeil.

Both divisions are expected to be launched in early 2019.
