TotalEnergies: license renewed for block in Nigeria
(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces the renewal of the production licence for Block OML 130, located 150 km off the coast of Nigeria, containing the prolific Akpo and Egina fields, which came on stream in 2009 and 2018 respectively.
In 2022, it produced 282,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day, of which around 30% will be gas, liquefied at the Nigeria LNG plant. The Akpo West short-cycle project is expected to come on stream by the end of 2023. TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited (operator) holds a 24% interest in Block OML 130, alongside CNOOC (45%), SAPETRO (15%), Prime 130 (16%) and NNPC, the concession holder of the production sharing contract.
