TotalEnergies: recycling project with New Hope Energy

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies today announces signing a commercial agreement with New Hope Energy, which will build a chemical recycling plant in Texas to convert plastic waste into a recycled feedstock, part of which will be sold to TotalEnergies.


The plant, scheduled to be operational in 2025, will use proprietary pyrolysis technology to treat and convert over 310,000 tonnes per year of waste, much of which is currently destined for landfill and incineration.

TotalEnergies will process 100,000 tonnes of recycled feedstock in its Texas-based production facilities to produce polymers with properties identical to those of virgin polymers, and is suitable for food packaging.
