TotalEnergies: builds biomethane unit

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces the launch of a joint venture with its American partner Clean Energy to build their first biomethane production unit in Friona (Texas), a product that will be used as an alternative fuel for mobility.


Located on the Del Rio Dairy farm site, the facility will be fuelled by the dairy farm's livestock effluent and will produce more than 40 GWh of biomethane per year, while avoiding the expected emission of 45,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

This production will be marketed in the United States by Clean Energy - in which TotalEnergies acquired a stake in 2018 - via its network of distribution stations, and will make it possible to supply the equivalent of 200 to 300 trucks per year with green fuel.
