TotalEnergies: new strategic wind farm offshore Aberdeen

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies has announced the inauguration of its offshore wind cluster near Aberdeen, off the coast of Scotland.


The site will facilitate the transition of staff from oil and gas activities to offshore wind as the business develops, the company said.

The announcement comes as TotalEnergies and its partners Green Investment Group and Scottish developer Renewable Infrastructure Development Group (RIDG) answered the ScotWind bidding process and proposed a 2 gigawatt offshore wind project called the West of Orkney Windfarm.

If the consortium is selected, 140 million pounds will be invested in a development program to develop the Scottish supply chain and port infrastructure specifically around this project.
