Total: first carbon neutral LNG cargo delivered
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has delivered its first cargo of carbon-neutral liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Chinese group CNOOC.
The loading was carried out from the Ichthys liquefaction plant in Australia and delivered on 29 September to the Chinese Dapeng terminal. The carbon footprint of the LNG shipment was offset by Verified Carbon Standards (VCS) emission certificates financing the Guyuan wind power project in China's Hebei province and the Kariba REDD+ forest protection project in Zimbabwe.
