Total: signs agreement for exploration permit in Oman

(CercleFinance.com) - Total and the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman have signed a memorandum of understanding for the allocation of an exploration permit on block 12, which has significant gas potential.


In the next few months, both parties will finalise on an exclusive basis, the definitive agreement, granting Total a 100% stake and the role of operator in exploration block 12, located in the central region of Oman.

"After the agreement reached on the integrated gas project of the Greater Barik area, the entry into exploration Block 12 represents a new exploration opportunity to unlock additional gas potential and to contribute to income growth and job creation in the country,” stated Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of Total.
