Carrefour: quarterly sales growth accelerates

(CercleFinance.com) - Carrefour group's Q3 2018 revenues came in at 21.
087 billion euros, up 2.1% on a comparable basis.

Sales including tax thus grew by 2.7% overall at constant exchange rates (although fell 2.8% at current exchange rates).

In addition, over the first nine months of 2018, the group posted sales of 65.256 billion euros, up +1.1% on a comparable basis. The comparable increase was +0.5% in France and +1.6% in other countries. Total sales growth amounted to +1.3% in France and was +3.2% in other countries at constant exchange rates (-6.5% at current exchange rates).

The group has therefore confirmed its targets, with in particular 5 billion euros in e-commerce food sales and 5 billion euros in sales of organic products in 2022, a savings plan of 2 billion euros over FY 2020 and sale of 500 million euros of non-strategic real estate assets by 2020.
