Carrefour: makes a 'foodtech' acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - After trading on Thursday Carrefour announced having acquired a majority stake in the start-up Quitoque, a leader in home-delivered food packs and a French pioneer in foodtech.


Created in 2014, according to a subscription system, each week Quitoque offers varied and balanced recipes to prepare at home with local, organic and seasonal produce.

The company, which has 60 employees and privileges French produce, delivered nearly 3 million meals in France last year.

After the transaction, effective immediately, Quitoque will continue to be managed by its co-founders, who will continue to develop the company alongside Carrefour.
