Sopra Steria: signs contract with the DGA

(CercleFinance.com) - The group announces that the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) has selected the consortium Thales and Sopra Steria to accelerate the development of the Big Data platform of the armed forces.


The DGA thus entrusts Thales and Sopra Steria with the second phase of the ARTEMIS program (Architecture for the Mass Processing and Exploitation of Multi-Source Information).

"Digitalisation is gaining ground in every aspect of combat operations conducted by French forces, but the digital transformation goes well beyond what is visible on the battlefield, increasingly affecting everything from logistic support and maintenance to intelligence systems, predictive analysis, operational information and communication systems, cybersecurity, training and simulation," the group said.

Sopra-Steria's deputy CEO Laurent Giovachini said that the group's past experience provides it will an extensive knowledge of the French military, as well as know-how in civil technologies.
