Nexans: contract to supply cables to Chile

(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans has been awarded a contract to supply cabling solutions for the Antofagasta photovoltaic project in Chile.


Enel Green Power has awarded Nexans a contract to supply 1,595 km of electrical cables for the interconnection of solar panels as part of the extension of the Finis Terrae photovoltaic project in the Antofagasta region of Chile.

Finis Terrae is a solar photovoltaic park that is divided into two phases, the second of which aims to increase the installed capacity by 126 MW to a total of 286 MW. Its annual production of 389 GWH is estimated to be equivalent to the consumption of 190,000 homes, the group said, adding that once the extended Finis Terrae solar park is fully operational, it will avoid the emission of 162,800 tonnes of CO2 per year.
