Nexans: choosen by Equinor for a gas and petroleum field

(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans today announces that it has been chosen by Equinor for the supply of 27 kilometres of complex umbilicals, including electrical, optical and hydraulic elements.


These submarine umbilicals are intended for the phase 3 of the operation of the Troll oil and gas field, the most prolific on the Norwegian continental shelf. This phase concerns the development of the western structure, located at a depth of approximately 330 metres underwater, 25 kilometres northwest of the Troll A platform.

Commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021. According to Nexans, more than half of the Troll field reserves have not yet been exploited after over 20 years of production.
