Air France-KLM: reports strong earnings growth in 2018

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM has announced 2018 net income group share of 409 million euros, up 246 million euros compared to 2017; however, the group's operating profit fell 591 million euros to 1,332 million euros.


The airline explains that its results benefited from a solid commercial performance and good cost control, although were hit by the strikes at Air France in the first half and by the increase in its fuel bill.

While the overall context remains uncertain, in 2019 the Franco-Dutch group expects to selectively increase the capacity of the network by 2% to 3% compared to 2018. Its low-cost subsidiary Transavia will continue to grow at a steady pace of 9% to 11%.
