Nokia: enhances ruggedized equipment range

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia today announced enhancements to its range of ruggedized devices for use in hazardous, flammable, explosive and dusty environments.


The Finnish company is launching enhanced versions of its Nokia Industrial 5G field router and Nokia XR20 smartphone for 4.9G (the final step before 5G) and 5G networks, to enable companies - including oil and gas companies - to maintain vital connectivity for their workforce and machinery.

"The digital transformation of industries is driven not just by the need to boost productivity and efficiency, but also to protect teams and the environment. For instance, it's essential to keep workers connected at a remote oil drilling platform, chemical processing plant, dusty mine, or any other hazardous environments," Nokia said.
