Nokia: wins role as IoT supplier of China Telecom

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Monday that it has been selected by China Mobile to provide Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity and services to the Chinese giant's clients.


Under the strategic deal, the Finnish company will offer managed services for both China and international clients, based on its so-called "Worldwide IoT Network Grid" (WING) platform.

Under this agreement, Nokia and China Mobile will cooperate on IoT connectivity services and jointly build a Chinese access node in Chongqing, a megacity in southwest China.

Nokia's WING platform helps operators deploy IoT projects without having to make investments in infrastructure, thanks to a "pay-as-you-go" business model that enables the fast scaling of 5G services at lower costs.
