Nokia: deploys cloud platform for India's Idea

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia is deploying its cloud technology for Idea Cellular in the Indian capital Delhi, with the telecom operator seeking to meet increasing data demand and mobile broadband growth.


The technology will enable Idea to run both data and voice services on a common cloud platform, reducing operating costs and providing a better quality service for subscribers, Nokia said.

Idea said that it is adding Nokia's cloud core capabilities as India prepares for 5G.

Nokia's cloud platform enables the delivery of enhanced broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), and machine-type communication (MTC) services while moving to a 5G core network.
