Nokia: to replace Telenor's optical network

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has been selected by Norwegian telecom company Telenor to replace its legacy optical backbone network which connects 200 centers across Norway and Sweden.


The new optical core network will provide bandwidth capacity supporting evolution to 5G, growing demand for online video, and the increasing use of cloud applications, the Finnish company said in a statement.

The next-generation network will feature Nokia's optical transmission technology, as well as advanced wavelength routing (CDC-F), automation and an SDN-ready platform.
