Siemens Gamesa: wind turbine order for park in Scotland

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy today announces a firm order for the supply of wind turbines for the 448 MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore project, which is being developed by EDF Renouvelables in Scotland.


It will install 54 SG 8.0-167 DD offshore turbines, with a rotor diameter of 167 metres and a height of 208 metres, bringing the number of DD offshore wind turbines sold worldwide to well above 2000. The offshore wind turbines are set to be operational by 2023.

Located 20 km from the east coast of Scotland, near the port of Dundee, the Neart na Gaoithe Wind Project is continuing a partnership with EDF Renouvelables that began with the development of the first tower of the Teesside wind farm in 2011.
