Santander: names Timothy Wennes CEO of US unit

(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish banking giant Santander named Timothy Wennes as chief executive of Santander US, its US unit, effective immediately.


Wennes succeeds Scott Powell, who has left the company to become chief operating officer of Californian bank Wells Fargo.

He joined Santander in September as CEO of the Santander Bank unit, which is one of the largest retail and commercial banks in the US, with assets of over 81.4 billion dollars.
