BBVA: partners with Nok Nok on biometric authentication

(CercleFinance.com) - BBVA is partnering with authentication expert Nok Nok Labs to strengthen the security of its biometric systems on mobile devices, the Spanish bank said on Tuesday.


Through this agreement, California-based Nok Nok will provide BBVA with a series of technological features which will enable the bank to offer secure authentication solutions.

This aims to replace the use of passwords with secure biometric authentication mechanisms that are protected by encryption systems, BBVA said.

Its mobile banking platform is already being used by over half of its customers worldwide.
