BBVA: 2018 earnings up over 50%

(CercleFinance.com) - BBVA has reported 2018 net income of 3.
52 billion euros, up 51.3%, with operating profit of over 12 billion euros, up 6.2% excluding FX factors.

The Spanish bank said that recurrent revenues, efforts to cut costs and a capital gain on the disposal of BBVA Chile all contributed to its results, with the group highlighting its diversified model and transformation strategy.

BBVA notes that over half of its customers are now digital, with it reaching a target set for 2018, as well as an improvement in its risk indicators, with a ratio of non-performing loans that is down 61 basis points to 3.9%.
