Uniper: raises profit guidance on UK outlook

(CercleFinance.com) - German energy group Uniper has raised its earnings forecast for 2019, in particular citing the reinstatement of the UK capacity market.


The company now expects adjusted EBIT of between 750 million and 950 million euros this year, compared with a previous guidance range of between 550 million and 850 million euros.

Uniper posted adjusted EBIT of 203 million euros for the first nine months of the year, down from 386 million euros in the same period of 2018.

The company said that earnings were adversely affected by the non-recurrence of positive effects recorded last year, lower output at a small number of power plants, and the absence of income from the UK capacity market.

The share was up 0.4% on Germany's XETRA market after these results.
