Osram: unveils new platform in intelligent light push

(CercleFinance.com) - German lighting group Osram unveiled a new intelligent light management platform on Tuesday, combining electricity supply with networked sensors.


In a year-long trial, the "Lightelligence" software platform reduced energy consumption by over 90% at the company's site in Traunreut, the company said.

After switching from conventional lighting to LEDs, which reduced energy consumption by over 60%, Osram deployed intelligent light-on-demand control that uses movement detectors.

In all, the group achieved a reduction of over 90% in the site's lighting energy costs for the warehouse and logistics areas alone.

The platform has been presented at the "Light + Building" fair which is currently being held in Frankfurt.
