Siemens Energy: major contract in offshore wind power

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy says that it has won a contract worth over 4 billion euros, including maintenance for ten years, in a consortium with Dragados Offshore to build conversion systems for two offshore grid connections in Germany.


In all, up to four gigawatts of green electricity from several wind farms in the German North Sea will be transported to land, enough electricity to meet the needs of around four million people.

This is both the world's first order for a two-gigawatt offshore grid connection and the largest offshore grid connection order in Siemens Energy's history.
