Siemens Energy: to equip two NOAA ships

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy is to help the US government reduce emissions from new National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ships.


Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors has awarded Siemens Energy a contract to supply power, propulsion and control systems and Siemens Energy battery storage technology for two research vessels.

The new vessels, called Oceanographer and Discoverer, are being acquired by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). They will support a variety of missions, including general oceanographic research and exploration, climate and ocean ecosystem studies, and global ocean surveys and data collection.
