Siemens Energy: to be included in Germany's mid-cap index
(CercleFinance.com) - Index operator Qontigo said Siemens Energy will replace leasing company Grenke in the MDAX index this month, underscoring the increasing importance of energy transition in the economy.
In a review late on Thursday Qontigo announced changes to the DAX index family, with Siemens Energy set to join the index for midcap stocks from 21 December, based on the so-called "fast entry" rule.
"Fast exit" and "fast entry" rules occur when companies no longer
possess the market cap or liquidity needed to remain in an index.
The news sparked a rise in Siemens Energy shares, which rose over 1% on Friday morning, giving the group a market capitalisation of over 18.1 billion euros.
Since its spin-off from Siemens and its consequent IPO in late September, the shares have risen by more than 15%.
