E.ON: to begin construction of onshore wind farm in Sweden

ON and Swiss investment bank Credit Suisse plan to build one of Europe's largest onshore wind farms in Sweden, the companies said on Friday.

The 500 million euro wind farm in the wooded area of central Sweden is expected to be completed by end of 2021, E.ON said in a statement.

The 475-megawatt Nysäter project will be equipped with 114 turbines from the German manufacturer Nordex, it added.

The wind farm will be jointly built with Switzerland's Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP), an investment manager entirely dedicated to the energy sector, E.ON said.

Construction is set to start in 2018.
