Commerzbank: suspends dividend payments

(CercleFinance.com) - Commerzbank has decided not to propose a dividend for 2019 at its AGM and does not plan to make a payout for the current financial year until uncertainties surrounding the COVID 19 pandemic have ended, the German lender said on Monday.


The decision was made in view of the European Central Bank's recommendation to banks, made on 27 March, not to pay a dividend for 2019 or 2020 - until at least October 2020, the bank said.

Commerzbank will then decide on resuming dividend payments as and when this is appropriate, it said.
