Bayer: forthcoming divestment in plant protection products

(CercleFinance.com) - The pharmaceutical and agrochemical group Bayer on Wednesday unveiled a series of measures to accelerate the strategic transformation of its crop science division.


The German giant announced in particular that it intends to divest its "Environmental Science Professional" business, which includes its insecticides and anti-vector products for green spaces, in order to focus on its activities in agriculture.

The division to be divested will generate sales of E600 million in 2019, Bayer said.

The group also announced on Wednesday the appointment of Dr. Jacqueline Applegate as head of its crop science division in North America in order to boost its growth in this highly strategic region from a commercial point of view.
